Who Is Thrombogenic: The Scaffold or the Doctor? Back to the Future!
نویسندگان
چکیده
T wenty years ago, Drs. Patrick Serruys and Carlo Di Mario wrote an editorial in Circulation titled “Who Was Thrombogenic: The Stent or the Doctor?” (1), that discussed optimal stent implantation technique. They highlighted the critical roles played by both the use of intravascular ultrasound to optimize stent implantation and the administration of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) to prevent metal stent thrombosis (ST) (2). These suggestions and considerations were particularly pertinent at the time, and although the designs of metallic stents have evolved to make the technology more forgiving, these factors are still valid and must be seriously revisited when considering the use of current early-generation bioresorbable scaffolds.

متن کاملBone Tissue Engineering: a Mini-Review
Despite advances in bone tissue engineering, auto grafts from intra-oral or extra-oral donor sites are still the gold standard for treatment of large craniomaxillofacial defects. Biomaterial development, application of growth factor, and stem cells, open new gateway to bone regeneration studies, but real translation from bench to bedside have not yet happened. In this review article, a number o...
متن کاملDecellularized kidney in the presence of chondroitin sulfate as a natural 3D scaffold for stem cells
Objective(s): Use of biological scaffolds and automating the cells directing process with materials such as growth factors and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) in a certain path may have beneficial effects in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine in future. In this research, chondroitin sulfate sodium was used for impregnation of the scaffolds. It is a critical component in extracellular matrix...
